A Day at Kiva Beach Lake Tahoe
Rob and I went to Lake Tahoe for vacation. Lexie the lab came with us and we were very lucky to have Rob’s son visiting us from Idaho.
We found a dog friendly beach called Kiva Beach. To be honest with you, I thought it was one of the most beautiful beaches that I’ve seen at the lake. We were really lucky that we could bring Lexie and we probably would have never found it without her. She did a little swimming with some help from Rob and a friend. She swam great, she’s a natural, but I don’t think she enjoyed it too much. I think she was a bit scared so we didn’t press the issue. She’ll swim more when she’s ready.
She really preferred stealing Dillon’s food. Don’t let this innocent looking lab fool you, she’s sitting nicely in this shot, but she had just attempted to steal Dillon’s leftover steak.
When Lexie realized that Dillon wasn’t giving up his steak and she wasn’t getting food from anyone else she decided she would check out digging in the sand. She really thought this was great! A cool spot in the sand.
When she realized she couldn’t dig to China she took a break.
Kiva Beach was gorgeous. This is the breathtaking view behind where we were sitting. We had a choice of swimming in the lake or wading in this area.
What a wonderful day we had at the beach!

New Collars for Lexie
Lexie is growing like a weed; on Wednesday I’ll take her to get shots and weighed, but I’m thinking she’s got to be at least 25 pounds now.
She’s into everything; our backyard looked like Kansas after a Tornado. I still think she’s a joy, she melts my heart everytime I look at her.
My car is over-the-hill and it’s time for a new, reliable vehicle. I have always wanted another sporty, little convertible, but that’s not really good for a large labrador. I’m picking I’m my new Lexie mobile, a 2006 Saturn Vue SUV, tomorrow morning.
Lexie got some cool, new collars from 3 Dirty Dawgz. Lori, the site owner is the bomb. She makes great, custom collars at terrific prices and she’s a dream to order from. In the picture above Lexie is showing off her new 4th of July collar.

Lexie @ 12 Weeks
I’m growing so fast and I’m already enrolled in puppy kindergarten. Mom’s been working at home to train me. I’m house trained and I already know how sit, lay down, lay on my side (sometimes), take it, off, and sometimes I will come when asked. Mom’s not sure if she will keep me in this puppy kindergarten; there is only one other puppy and mom’s just not sure about the training. We’re going to go again on Sunday and give it one more try.

Lexie @ 10 Weeks
I was reading a new article at Digital Photography School on How to Photograph Pets and I thought that I would take Lexie out for a little photo shoot. Of course puppies would prefer to chew on the camera than sit still. 
Lexie had her first visit to the puppy doctor this week. She’s in great health and wieghs 18 pounds! She got her second set of shots, some worming goo, and a microchip. She was such a good girl! The puppy doctor was very proud of her.
